What We Offer

Here at Another Deep Breath, we offer unique coaching programs that are personalized, evidence-based, and results-oriented.

Check out some of our offerings below:

Personal Training

Do you want the strength of a rhino, the speed of a cheetah, and the flexibility of a newborn infant? Well…we can’t give you those things. Rhinos are huge, cheetahs have four legs, and infants’ bones aren’t fully developed.

But while we can’t transform you into a 3,000 pound beast with four legs and soft bones, we can help you become stronger, more mobile, and more athletic. Our clients include everyone from students trying their first workout routine to competitive athletes looking for an edge. No matter who you are, our unique approach—which incorporates cutting edge science from the worlds of both fitness and psychology—can help you reach your goals.

Injury Recovery and Prevention

Once upon a time, there was a little boy who liked being injured because it meant he got to skip soccer practice and watch Saturday morning cartoons (Sorry, Coach Grady!). Unfortunately, as an adult, being injured is much less fun.

That’s why we’re eager to get you healthy and stay that way. With a background in both corrective exercise and psychology, we tackle both the physical and psychological components of injury rehabilitation. Our goals are to:

  1. Help you get back to full health as quickly as possible and
  2. Help you build a body that is more resilient to injury

Unlike most injury-related programming, we won’t just look at the physical element of recovery. We’ll also give you psychological tools to deal with the mental component or recovering from an injury or long-term pain.

If after getting healthy, you want to lay on the couch and watch Saturday morning cartoons, that’s up to you!

Mental Health Programming

Legend has it that those who achieve true enlightenment are able to heal the sick, read minds, and levitate off the ground. Unfortunately, our programming is (probably) not going get you to true enlightenment.

What we can offer is a combination of physical exercises, nutrition programming, and psychological activities designed to improve your emotional well-being. This type of coaching aims to:

  1. Help you feel mentally healthier, more productive, and more focused
  2. Help you deal with mental health challenges like anxiety and depression.

“But wait!” you might say. “Isn’t that what therapy and medication are for?”

In a word: Yes.

But while therapy and medication are both great, research that suggests exercise is even more effective in treating mental health challenges than medication or therapy. And studies also suggest that a healthy diet can have a variety of psycho-protective factors.

That said, not all exercise and nutrition plans are created equal. While most exercise will be helpful for mental health to some degree, some exercise and diet programs will be better or worse depending on your goals. For example, someone working to manage their anxiety might benefit more from a different type of program than someone struggling with ADHD symptoms.

Whatever your mental health goals might be, we want to help you get there.

Nutrition Counseling

If you like nutrition plans built around tasteless food and boredom, then we probably aren’t the nutrition counseling service for you. But if you want an eating strategy that will help you achieve your goals while still allowing you to enjoy food, you’ve come to the right place.

Maybe you’re an athlete looking to dial in your food choices before a competition. Maybe you’re an individual wondering if changing your food choices can improve your mental health. Maybe you’re just someone who wants to feel a little better about what they’re putting into their body. Whatever your goals are, we’d love to help you get there!
